Logan Lerman’s Favorite Films With Frank Vincent

Logan Lerman is a wonderful actor who is known for his amazing acting, despite his young age. Like any other artist, he has inspirations that help him make progress in his career. One of them is Frank Vincent. Today we want to tell you about five of Lerman’s favorite movies with Frank Vincent.

Vincent is remembered by his fans as an actor with a neat appearance and confident demeanor. And his Italian-American origin was often part of the reason to cast him for a film.

Out of Frank Vincent’s huge filmography, there were six films that sunk into Logan Lerman’s soul the most. Here they are.

Goodfellas

One such film is Martin Scorsese’s outstanding drama Goodfellas (1990). That is one of the brightest representatives of gangster cinema. Incredible storytelling dynamics, magnificent script, sound and visual series capture the viewer’s attention and do not let them go for over two hours.

The role played by Frank Vincent looks more than impressive. One of the reasons was the insight with which the setting is recreated. The fact is that Scorsese created a semi-documentary canvas, in which he primarily relies on two things. First, through the beauty and richness of the frame he fully conveys the spirit of the times. Second, the plot is intriguing and exciting thanks to full-fledged personalization.

Casino

The next movie is Casino (1995). It is about the underground gangster vicissitudes of the life of the gambling capital of America. It brought together on the set the bright cast of Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Frank Vincent as well as director Martin Scorsese and writer Nicholas Pileggi for the second time. Mr. Pileggi’s novel of the same name formed the basis of the movie. Who would doubt that such a powerful creative union would amaze the world with another genre masterpiece? After the cult Goodfellas they did not expect anything else!

In Casino movie Frank Vincent got the role of Frank Marino. This character is based on Frank Cullotta, the American gangster who was a member of the Hole in the Wall Gang.

Raging Bull

Next, we would like to highlight another masterpiece by Martin Scorsese, Raging Bull (1980). Unlike most films about sports and boxing in particular, Scorsese preferred a story not about the athlete’s rise to fame, but about his entire career. Scorsese decided not to stop at the peak of La Motta, the time when he took the championship belt, but continued with the story and showed the decline of the great boxer.

Frank Vincent played the role of Salvy Batts. Although this role is minor, Vincent does not fade into the background at all. He makes the movie even richer with his unique acting talent.

Gotti

Another gangster film in which Frank Vincent proved to be excellent is Gotti (1996). The movie about one of the most famous godfathers of the underworld in New York is an interesting picture for crime genre and biographical cinema fans. Apart from exceptional directing and magnificent camera work, a great cast is involved in this film: Armand Assante, Dominic Chianese, Vincent Pastore, Tony Sirico, and Frank Vincent. All of them perfectly convey the characters of Italian-Americans and the spirit of the mafia.

Last Exit to Brooklyn

And the last film, where Frank Vincent starred in an unusual role of a priest, is “Last Exit to Brooklyn” (1989). “Last Exit to Brooklyn” is a collection of sketches from the life of Brooklyn in the early second half of the 20th century. The oppressive poverty and hopelessness pushes the heroes to commit not entirely legal actions: everyone earns as best as they can without any distant plans. At this time, a dockers’ strike takes place, which is of great importance for the huge number of Brooklyn residents. It is especially interesting to watch its development.
