Top Gun: Maveric (July 2, 2021)

This year Tom Cruise is responsible for two blockbuster franchises at once – Mission: Impossible and Top Gun. The first film was filmed in 1986, 35 years later it returns to the screens in a completely different reality. Val Kilmer, judging by the latest information, is also expected, and besides him, Jennifer Conelli, Miles Teller, John Hamm, and Ed Harris are involved in the film.

Candyman (August 27, 2021)

A remake of the memorable horror of the 90s, perhaps, would have remained without such close attention if Jordan Peele had not acted as a scriptwriter and producer. He has brought the horror genre to new heights with his films “Get Out” and “We”. Starring Yahya Abdul-Matin II, who is now participating in all the iconic films, and directed by young Nia Dacosta, who has yet to show the second Captain Marvel.

Mission: Impossible 7 (November 19, 2021)

The film crew, led by the ageless Tom Cruise, was in quarantine in Italy, since it was there that a number of scenes were filmed for the seventh part of the franchise (which, by the way, only gets better with each part, like Fast and the Furious with John Wick). 

Then the shooting continued in different countries, and on one of the shooting days, Cruise gave a riot to the group for violating the rules of social distance. It is easy to understand the actor’s worries: the premiere had to be shifted by almost six months, the budget for the project increased, another transfer due to quarantine, the project may simply not be released because of financial problems. But for now, we are waiting for it to be released. 

Killers of the Flower Moon

So far, it is completely unclear that the film will be released in 2021 – there is a probability that we will have a chance to enjoy it in 2022. Expectations are very high, as a great couple of actors, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, two of the director’s muses with whom he has created so many memorable films, are brought in to work on the new film of Martin Scorsese.

The new project will film a book about the massacres of Indians in their settlement in the 1920s. To investigate crimes, FBI agents are sent to this area, who understand that the reason is in the oil found, which can enrich the local population or bring them a lot of misfortune…

Death on the Nile (September 17, 2021)

After the successful relaunch of the series of adaptations about Hercule Poirot with the film Murder on the Orient Express by Kenneth Branagh, the second part of the new story comes out. Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer will certainly make the film memorable.

Dune (October 15, 2021)

The most anticipated science fiction movie of 2020 has become the most anticipated science fiction movie of 2021. The new adaptation of the novel by Frank Herbert after a similar attempt by David Lynch in the 80s has every chance of success: the trailer made fans squeal with delight. All the stars in the cast cannot be enumerated, but Hans Zimmer is responsible for the music. It remains only to hope that there will be no next postponement of the premiere.

The Last Duel (October 15, 2021)

We expected the release in the spring of 2020, but Ridley Scott’s new film was not released in 2020, but it’s expected in 2021. One way or another, it is definitely worth waiting for: a historical action movie about revenge for the honor of his wife, in which Adam Driver, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck are involved.

Eternals (November 5, 2021)

Eternals is a new round in the development of the Marvel universe – a story about immortal characters of divine origin who have lived on Earth since ancient times and determine how life will be shaped on the planet. Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek are participating, and it is directed by Chloe Zhao, who last year presented her film “Land of the Nomads”, which took the main prize of the Venice Festival and is now nominated for an Oscar.

Halloween Kills (October 15, 2021)

This is the penultimate part of the franchise, which started in 1978. Director John Carpenter’s business is continued by David Gordon Green, and the incomparable Jamie Lee Curtis is still in the lead female role forty years later.

As you can see, there are plenty of interesting films to expect in 2021. Movie lovers will certainly be satisfied with the numerous movies all of us are waiting for.
